No flavor

"After soaking overnight and then cooking in an instapot for 15 minutes, these beans have no flavor. Most of these beans cook to become soft, a few remain hard. The bag's expiration date is more than 1 year in the future, so they seem to be "fresh". Overall, I'm very disappointed. I've used the same method to cook other brands of beans which taste much better."

The best pinto beans I've ever eaten!

"La Prefferida Pinto Beans Frijoles Pintos were smaller and less spotted than some pinto beans that I've eaten and cooked and were also the absolute best! And I've been eating pinto beans since before I could walk so that's close to 7 decades. I rinsed and drained the beans a couple or three times and picked out a few cracked beans, but these beans were very clean. I tossed the dry beans into my slow cooker with the giant ham bone left-over from Christmas. Added some shallots, some Penzy Justice which is a seasoning blend with onions, garlic, shallots, added a couple of bay leaves and 1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme. I also just tossed in the seasoning packet which had come for glazing the ham and which I hadn't used (so there was some sugar and holiday spices and orange in that packet), added 3/4 can of Dr. Pepper, and about 6 cups of water to cover. Cooked on high for about 4 hours then turned the slowcooker down to low and continued cooking overnight. Smelled so wonderful, I opted for an early lunch. The beans were very flavorful, tender and almost creamy in texture. Oh, so good!"

Very impressed

"Ive Been cooking dry beans for 40+ years and admit I don't shop for certain brands, but after this purchase, will definitely use LA PREFERIDA brand in the future. I didn't realize I was out of pinto beans and needed some for dinner, amazon to the rescue again. The older a bean is, the longer it takes to cook, I always plan extra time to be safe. These were done in just over an hour! Very fresh beans. And very little debris in the bag when sorting.I found an 8lb bag at Walmart and different beans in the brand which is perfect. My family loves beans, we eat almost every bean available, something different almost every dinner and sometimes lunch"
